A large number of the High School Music teachers in Orange County
received their degree from either Cal State Long Beach or Cal State
Fullerton. I can't recommend either one as I graduated as an Engineer
from Cal Poly SLO. The only knock (IMO) on Long Beach or Fullerton is

Maybe Long Beach still does have a marching band, (I
haven't really asked) but usually lack of football
will kill a marching band. When I went to the Big
West Tourney last year, Long Beach did have a very
large pep band (they rotated players, only 35 are
allowed to play in the stands at one time)
