For those in our four-state corner of the world, I thought I would
announce a couple of upcoming concerts that might be of interest. Both
will take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Anyone interested let me
know and I'll give directions.
This coming Sunday at 3pm I will be presenting a solo recital on
campus. We'll start with the Beethoven Sextet for Strings and Two
Horns. Works with piano will be the Guillou, Mon nom est Rolande;
Schumann, Fantasiestucke (the ones originally for cello or clarinet);
and a set of movements by Wilder. I'll also be doing the unaccompanied
Paganini, Caprice No. 9.
The following Thursday, February 26 at 7:30 pm, the Lyrique Quintette,
our faculty woodwind quintet, will be playing a fairly new work by
Roger Cichy for quintet and band entitled Windsicle. This was
originally written for the Air Force Academy Band and the Rampart
Winds Woodwind Quintet. This will be at 7:30 pm in the Walton Arts
Center, downtown, as part of a concert given by the University of
Arkansas Wind Symphony.
Hope a few can make it. Come up and say hello.
