I use it. Things like lip trills, pedal notes, and whenever I might need
the open side F horn for any possible problem notes that are going to
normally be flat on a Bb horn like a 2nd line G or sharp like a 3rd space C.

My second horn is the 4-valve Paxman model 10 single Bb. I have removed the
F-extension and use the 4th valve for either stopping or for playing horn parts
that are in A, E, or Eb. With this setup, my biggest limitation is not being
able to play below low Bb (9th below middle C), as seldom as
