piano), two trios by Frederic Duvernoy (horn, violin, piano), a trio for
horn, violoncello
But the question was about classical, but classical in the original
meaning of the word : classical epoque plus minus, not the new meaning
of classical to differenciate it from POP or Jazz or LIGHT.

minus was just invented to cover what most people mean, when they ask
for classical compositions. Most of them never ask for Ligeti,

basso continuo (piano/harpsichord with optional cello on the bass line. None of the

The Brahms Horn Trio is an obvious choice. It may be the most significant
chamber piece including a horn. It apparently was the first thing he wrote
after the death of his mother. It usually comes with doubled parts for cello and
viola. Make sure you get a real good pianist. If the pianist
