If you are looking for a reversed horn (sorry, I missed part of the 
discussion)I know for a fact that one exists at the Hoyer factory in Germany.  
Also, Walter Lawson in Maryland has been known to make modified instruments to 
accommodate one physical challenge or another.

It seems that I may have neglected to mention a rather important detail 
(as was graciously pointed out to me off-list).

Rather than using the standard mute from the SB system, we wanted to try 
to use some sort of clip-on pickup similar to those used with tuners 
(another discussion, I know).

Does this fact change anyone's opinion, or was that pretty much already 
assumed?
