As this is the same what Michael suggested, I am going along and will tag the crossing with
route=ferry. Its nice to see how complete the primary route network is now :)

The road seems to disappear as I zoom or refresh tiles. The points/nodes are still there so
retracing is simple, but maybe someone more proficient in OSM can restore it?
