[HOT] Missing Maps #993 (Unity State, South Sudan): Concern about primary road (Wun_Chuei-Boyapak)

2015-05-13 Thread m902
Hi, Is there anyone (perhaps from MSF) with local knowledge of the road network in Unity State? Can you take a look at http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/22259826#map=13/8.3387/30.0187 which shows the primary road. In many places I can't see any evidence for it on the ground (on either Bing or

[HOT] Nepal: indicating cloud cover?

2015-04-28 Thread m902
I'm concerned that we are marking as complete some tasks where we can't see anything on the imagery because of cloud cover. This could lead to settlements being overlooked. Is there some way of indicating that the task needs further investigation, perhaps with post-disaster imagery? OSM Notes

Thanks for the comments. I agree that we can't be sure that these are just animal shelters and so best to tag them as residential until someone can check locally. I'm tagging the tracks that link the groups of buildings with nearby settlements and anything that looks wide enough for a wheeled

[HOT] HOT #777 (East Cameroon) feature identification: residential or farmyard?

2014-12-20 Thread m902
Hi, Please will you take a look at http://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=18/4.38567/13.92618. Given the animal tracks around, it seems possible that these are animal shelters. But I wonder if there are also people living here. If just animal shelters I'm inclined to tag as landuse=farmyard,
