MapGive along with the U.S. State Department’s South American Regional Environmental Office will be putting together a 3-day mapping workshop in Piura, Peru to take place 10-12 of February. We are teaming up with Mapbox as they will be supporting the workshop with two instructors from Mapbox Peru. Participants of the workshop will include the local government, INDECI (Institute of National Civil Defense), and the local community. The event will kick-off with a Mapathon on 10 Feb in the afternoon. We have already initiated contact with OSM Peru. We wanted to reach out to the community and see if there are any additional OSM/HOT contacts in Peru that would be interested in either helping to remotely trace during the Mapathon or are in Piura and would be interested in participating or potentially helping to train local participants how to field map in OSM.
