Typhoon Ruby made landfall about 2 hours ago at Dolores, on Samar Island Philippines.http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/198523195#map=9/12.0622/124.8761 Below is a note from Mark Cupit that makes the point from the Philippines about this OpenStreetMap response. Pierre
Dear HOT Community Typhoon Ruby has made landfall at Dolores in North eastern Samar and will traverse to the West over Samar in the next 12-16 hours. Whilst Ruby has downgraded slightly, The Philippine Weather Agency, PAGASA, has released a RED Condition for rainfall in the area. This means that the area will be subject to torrential rin and flooding/landslide risks We need to provide focused mapping support to responding agencies for road access, evacuation centers , etc Please focus on the Priority Areas marked in a Red Polygon on the following two areas http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/801 http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/799 We have requested imagery for unmapped areas in the path to the west, but for now this is our priority Regards Mark Cupitt
