Thanks for the comments.
The difference between unclassified versus residential is a challenge for
many people, including myself.
The language in the unclassified is trying to describe the function of
connecting settlements rather than a road where people live.
What is a settlement? Hamlet or large

I seem to recall some one posting recently that following discussion at the
SOTM Africa in Uganda 2017 some changes had been made to the wiki.
Could some one highlight these.
Thanks John
Hi Emmor,
The document is really nice, thanks for sharing. IMHO we really need clear

Dear friends,
I think it would be really good to have a simple set of instructions for
people at mapathons. Sure, these can always be amended as per instructions,
but it would be nice to have a default set.
In our "MM Intro" presentation, we came up with this slide

Looking at the wiki changes it looks like mainly clarifications I tend to
not use tags higher than tertiary as I think they are best left to local
knowledge or someone with more specialised knowledge.
Many Thanks

I led the discussion at the Highway Tagging workshop on the last day of
SOTM Africa.
There was quite a bit of discussion and agreement that the existing tagging
can be frustrating, however, we did not generate any new proposals for
additional tags.
We did agree on some changes to the Africa Highway

Hi,
Could someone have a look at the "Other crossing" section of the English
language article? [1]
It used to be very confusing, but I find the current version a bit strange.
The most common river crossing without a bridge should be a simple
"ford=yes". Then you can add all sorts of extra informa

Hi,
I suggest that if we're not sure if a road is unclassified or already
tertiary, we name it unclassified and promote it to tertiary as soon
as all the surrounding areas are complete; if you're working on a
single area you can't really tell if this road leads only to other
villages - ending up n
