*Role: **Unix, Solaris, Linux Admin* *Location: **Houston, TX* *Duration: 3 - 6 Months Contract* *Extension possible: Yes* *Year of Exp: 8+ Years*. *Job Description:* Candidate should have excellent communication and documentation skills and should be able to independently perform L2/L3 activities without any supervision or guidance and also able to work with onsite-offshore implementation model. The candidate should have expertise in carrying out the following tasks: · Strong in Solaris and Linux administration (different versions) · Configuration and administration of Logical volume manager. · Good knowledge and experience on Unix Management tools · Strong in HA concepts, SAN/NAS environment · Changing Kernel Parameters · Patch and Package administration · Printer, NIS, NFS, Samba administration · Backup administration using VeritasNetbackup (preferred), experience with any other D2D storage based backup product (good to have). · Strong in troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue · Strong knowledge in Configuration and administration of Veritas products like VxVM, VCS. · Writing shell/perl scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task · Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity /Disaster recovery planning. · Experience in data center migration: P2V, V2V using tools like Platespin or VMware converter, lift/shift of servers, migration of data using any other tools · Experience in handling large and critical environments · Highlighting of location specific risks to project manager and support for mitigation of risks · Training to operations team for sustenance, troubleshooting guides preparation *Preferred* • Certification on Solaris(System Administration, Hardware , Performance Tuning, Network Administration) • RHEL, VxVM/VCS is a plus • ITIL V3/V2 – desired. *Personal* Besides the professional qualifications of the candidates we place great importance in addition to various forms personality profile.
