I agree. Sometimes it's better (much faster) to just scale the images,
do the hugin stuff on the scaled images, and then modify the PTO file
for the larger files. I've got a script that does this for me. (scale
the PTO file). But having hugin natively do this would be great.

FOV should not really change with the projection (except that the
projection may need to be cropped a bit to say 180 degrees max for
equirectangular proj.) The optimal size will be adjusted if you click
the button again. The program won't know if you want them changed or

I'm building a pano-head myself as well. Is the pano-head accurate
enough to do exactly 36 degrees for each image? I don't think so. So
doing the whole control-point thing is still neccesary.

Workaround: first load all the short-focal length images, and only then
the longer ones. Then enblend will get the longer focal length images
last. Hmm. It might then call the image redundant and skip it
alltogether. You need to cut a square out of the short-focal-length-one.
