Feel a bit miffed that this bug is assigned "low priority status". I
have had several potentially very nice HDR photos ruined by this. I've
found no good workaround within the user flow.
Clearly the HDR-output part of the program (which lots of people use
hugin for) is broken and should be fixed :
Yes indeed, the fix worked perfectly. Thank you. There was a comment
in the linked FAQ that perhaps using the --fine-mask slowed things down.
Perhaps it does, but I was on a MacBook Pro with 8Gb memory, so I really
didn't notice.

Now that I have uprgraded to 2010.4 I cannot reproduce the error. :) I have a
new problem, but that is for further research.

Hi, this is a known occasional bug with enblend, there are some
workarounds listed in the FAQ:
http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_FAQ#Enblend_error:_Mask_is_entirely_black.2C_but_white_image_was_not_identified_as_redundant
