The about screen number is based on the source code revision. Since both
builds are of rc4, the number remains the same. I deleted the original
rc4 and renamed the new version per your suggestion to reduce potential
confusion.

The missing VCOMP100.DLL is a known issue. It can be resolved by
installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

Now that I think of it, I guess an easier procedure would be to "use
alternative Enblend/Enfuse program" in the settings, but I would not
have known what to do with the "Default Arguments".

I checked the installed binaries from RC4_2 and I found 4 files dated
2011-08-30: enblend, enfuse enblend_noopenmp and enfuse_noopenmp. On a

now works. I suggest a more end-user-friendly installation ;-)

Tested the 2nd version you uploaded to sourceforge and this version works
allright.
Stitches without a problem.
I only wonder why in the about screen the number of 2011.2 RC4 is the same as
RC4-2. nl.: da2f450aef66
Depends that on the sourcecode version or is that number created by compiling.
So
I know this version crashes, but yesterday a second version is placed on
sourceforge. Download that version and test it. On my computer it don't crash.
This is already on discussion in launchpad bug under Hugin 2011.2.0 RC2.
This is the same as bug 817104

Public bug reported:
Version: 2011.2.0.da2f450aef66 built by Matthew Petroff on Windows
Vista.
Assistant does not complete: first time cpfind crashes before creating
any CP, second time it crashes after creating the CPs but before
optimizing. Of course, I can still continue by optimizing manually
