Enfuse was created (AFAIK) for doing HDR from multiple pictures
taken with different EVs.

However, it works by the (rather simple, conceptually) method
of taking the best pixels from each image and blending.

Recently, I wanted to photograph a rather decayed grave marker,
where the letters are almost worn away. These are best shown
by raking light (*), so I went to the graveyard at night (!!) with two tripods,
one for my torch (flashlight in the USA), one for my camera.

Since my torch (LED Lenser L7) is small, it could not
light up the whole marker in one hit, so I took 4 shots
with different parts of the marker lit up
(the torch was moved, but the camera wasn't).

I initially composited in Gimp, setting each layer to "lighten only"
which was "OK".

But I then gave enfuse a try.

Perfect result!!

 BugBear

(*) actually they're BEST shown using RTI, but that's a whole
new learning curve, and a load of work.

The "specular enhancement" around 1/3 into this video is STUNNING
