This has nothing to do with religions or cultures , the reference to Muslims is equally diversionary , the problem affects all citizens ,and in every state of the Indian Union corruption is a problem ,however it is linked to policies and the manner in which a society is being influenced and controlled by and for who ???????? The banners may be to identify the movement with supportfor a particular party however the strange and farcical manner in which a few people are conducting this movement, camouflaging the real issues including the issue of policy, raises several questions which remain unanswered ......... Whatever is partisan is suspect, that is why it is equally important to focus attention on administrations and their policies wherever it has adversely impacted citizens .It is important for a sincere movement or political party genuinely dedicated to peoples interest to be honest in its functioning . We cannot single out Gujarat alone for condemnation, if we do not focus on what has been happening in other States and the encounter deaths and bomb blasts which have taken place and the hundreds of innocent people languishing in jail in those States irrespective of which party is in power .
As of to-day the anti-corruption movement seeks to camouflage every other issue, why ???? while making no serious gains on the necessity to cover the powerful financial and other interests who in fact influence government policies and decision making as this sector is given impunity by those fasting who arefocussing on covering everyone else except this oligarchy and the powerful real estate and contractorslobby which includes financiers and commercial lobbyists. When even Stiglitz( Nobel laureate and World Bank ) refers to the privatization process as briberization and gives examples from country after country , can it be ignored . I recall a well known Senior Advocate , the late Mr. J.I. Mehta an eminent Senior Counsel who appeared predominantlyin commercial and company law cases , informing me with all seriousness when the policy commenced a decade that the biggest financial scandal was in the area of privatization of public resources and I can assure you as will others that he was not a socialist or communist or a radical though professionally he believed in ethics. This is what we call oral and contemporary history of an individual with inside information soberly reacting to policy which went by and large unchallenged . To-day ideological labels have ceased to mean anything in particular when advanced with a dubious motive . Someone claiming to be a Gandhian others Communists still others Civil Society ;some claiming to be Dalits when they are actually well heeled and prosperous, , others claiming to be Muslims and their protectors closing their eyes to the fact that many are in serious economic and social distress , terrorized , bereft even of citizenship rights in some regions not restricted to Gujarat . Others claim to espouse ' Hindutva' a camouflage for continuing economic , social and political control of millions of people not similary privileged .What we need are more honest citizens without vested interest whether they are in political parties , movements or outside ready to understand that in a society we have to care for everyone and on a priority basis for those who have little or nothing the others are able to take care of themselves more ably . We will need the private sector even as it is the State Sector at the Commanding heights of the economy which has to safeguard public wealth , resources and interests ; however this private sector has to function within the ambit and framework of Constitutional safeguards including Article 39 ( b) and ( c) as presently we have been reduced to medieval and feudal control by major Companies , even coveting land in the manner of the Zamindari of the East India Company in several countries imposing its own diktat on political parties and governments . Unfortunately some of the worst citizens to-day are those who are masquerading as supporters of peoples interests when their real motivations may be quite different , the deliberate hijacking of the political movements of this country and society . Do those who consider themselves Mahatmas not know this????? Then why a distorted focus ???? Why does the movement conceal more than it reveals, is this what Mahatma Gandhi desired ??? Muslims surely attribute to anti corruption but the way ann movement was showcased previously with slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki" etc, people in saffron, BJP VHP etc and havans were done that distances people from the same. that can be one of the main reasons for the visible distance. regards -- Feroze Ahmed Mob: +919419017680, email: ferozkash...@gmail.com Skype : ferozkashmir -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "humanrights movement" group.
