At this point I would have to recommend not referring SoaS as
classroom ready. The classroom is an extremely demanding
environment:
1. One teacher - 25 squirmy kids.
2. Almost no system administration resources.
3. Little formal SoaS teacher training available.
4. Very distinct, often
My vote is get rid of the Search within drop down but keep the advanced tab.
Low Floor - you type in the search box and you get your result.
No Ceiling - Someday we will have thousands of activities, books, content
bundles, lesson plans maybe IMS Content packages that you can import into
Moodle.
Hello,
I had a conversation with our tech folks on campus yesterday, and
Sugar via LTSP (http://www.ltsp.org/) came up. The original discussion
was about LTSP and thin and fat clients, but this group is in the
College of Education, so the conversation drifted towards Sugar. We've

The theme I was looking for was that because of participant's varied
background, there will be some methods of communications that are most
appropriate for their types of conversation. Yet, as a young
project, Sugar Labs inly has a few commonly used methods of
communication. Namely #Sugar,
Sugar is compatible with LTSP systems. The folks at Resera have done
good work in this space. However, the Ubuntu packaging of Sugar 0.84
is a bit behind the great work being done by the Debian community.

I wanted to report on my progress with SoaS on my MacBook. I still haven't got
the USB version working, but, as I mentioned yesterday, I did get SoaS running
with Virtual Box.
I was surprised how few programs were shown. Are others hidden but included?
How are they accessed?
