Whoops didn't see the top of your email. This is very odd, how could I
not be seeing the ACPI event .. I have tried it with two seprate
kernels and distros .. but it used to work .. very odd let me try
resetting my bios or something.

Are you using the same bios version. I am also trying this with bios
2.10 on two diffrent T61 and when I run acpi_listen I don't see
anything with FN+F5 anymore .. which older bios version less then 2.09
