Mark, >Why not? Didn't you say it was only a problem a system shutdown time? >Do you care about some extra paging while you shut down? Your question made me look up the system commands book. Yes, there is a setsmf command that would allow me to only increase the buffer size during shutdown!

OK, yes, I am remembering now. Man, I hate IMS :) I really need to get better versed in it. Anyway, what's happening is that IMS isn't automatically starting any of my MPP regions. When I try to start them with /START REGION xxx, I get a whole bunch of MPP regions that all say: DFS690A IMS91M11.

I too complained about the switch from REXX to C - got me nowhere. Was not happy but the constant hangups in V4 forced me to V6 and a rudimentary learning of C. There's a couple of other not so pleasant things in V6 too, e.g. in 3.4 putting a 'b'rowse on multiple members and it presents from the

That's nice to know, but I keep the old SPF/PC for one very important (to me, at least) reason: REXX support. I can develop a REXX exec at home and xfer it immediately to my mainframe ISPF environment and know that it will work identically in both locations. And that's saved me a LOT of time.
