I have a user who reported a problem when ISPF went to create a temp data
set during the batch job submission. It appears that ISPF or the system
tried to allocate the file on a volume the user
did not have authority to use.

We are trying to move away from CA-PDSMAN. One feature that our few
remaining users like, is the Easyedit feature of a list files that the user
commonly edits.
Has anyone else moved away from PDSMAN and how did you handle that feature?

Our printer guy is gone until after Christmas and we only have maintenance
on our Xerox DP75 printers on a billable basis as needed.
I am looking for anyone familiar with Xerox printers/$DJDE commands and how
to tell the printer to pull a sheet of paper from a different tray for a

I am looking one or more sites that are running CA-SYSVIEW release 12
and might still have CA-SYSVIEW 11.6 laying around.
Could you please contact me off the list at weaver...@osu.edu.
Has anyone ever switched their users from CA-SYSVIEW to SDSF?

We presently have zOS1.7 in test under VM here. We made a copy of
the system volumes for use on another mainframe also running VM.
When we go to ipl 1.7 on the other mainframe running VM, the
following message appears.

We copied our zOS 1.7 system (in test mode here) to another set of
dasd to be run on a different mainframe under VM.
We are getting the message
IEF431E ZERO QMPA POINTER FOUND. SWA MANAGER REASON CODE=3C
Anyone have any idea what this is referring to?

I have a need to build a small zOS utility system. There are no plans
to put our security package on this utility system. There will be no
real data on this system to be concerned about.
So my question is: How does TSO know to use SYS1.UADS? Does UADS
need to be defined to the TSO proc?
Has anyone moved from using CA-MIM to GRS? Was it an easy move? did
you loose any functionality?

Someone just asked about last order date for z/OS 1.7, which just went GA.
For those of you who did not attend SHARE, it was announced that IBM
is now on a version a year schedule. IBM is planning 1.8 for fall
of 2006, and so on.
