I am installing 1.11 and somehow have managed to get both /etc and /var
mounted as directories and no symbolic links:
/SYSTEM/etc mountpoint = / on OMVS.Z1B.ROOT (empty)
/etc/ mountpoint = /etc on OMVS.Z1B.ETC
/var/ mountpoint = /var on OMVS.Z1B.VAR
Based on my 1.9 system, the mounts should be
I now have the /etc and /var directories mounted correctly, but am still
getting the "The symlink defined by /etc [/var] already exists as a different
file type." error.
This is not a SYSPLEX, it is a single system.
Ideas anyone?
Resolved by uisng the UNIX ln command instead of the REXX EXEC.

Going from z/OS 1.9 to 1.11 and using SHOWMVS to check some options. We
implemented the new with z/OS 1.10 PARMLIB support for DFSORT installtion
defaults (ICEPRMxx). Has anyone else noticed that SHOWMVS appears to be picking
up the IBM DFSORT defaults, perhaps expecting the linked options modul
ICETOOL "DEFAULTS" provided the confirmation I needed. We were just confused by
the SHOWMVS DFSORT information.

I'm trying to install the Co: Z Toolkit for z/OS under TSO OMVS and can't get
around the "FSUM9225 no memory: EDC5132I NOT ENOUGH MEMORY." errors with a TSO
region size of 2047M. Our test system CSA = 2404K, ECSA = 61588K. Any
suggestions?

The RMDS documentation refers specifically to RACF rather than "security
subsystem" or SAF. We have figured out how to secure the report but not how
to provide selective access.
