Indiana had the worst idea of all. Some eastern counties had ET (EST
/ EDT), some central counties had EST all year, and some western
counties had CT (CST / CDT).
Arizona has a bad spot too. Most of the state is MST all year (too

I live a few miles from INDIANA and the states split between eastern and
central tz and it gets pretty bad for the people there. The zig zag of the
state and the people there that I have talked to hate it.

Yes I realizes there are more time zones. I was trying to be brief unlike
someone else. That is why I used etc.
The tz's in Hawaii and Alaska and of course the Atlantic zone Newfoundland

Actually, the United States is effectively divided into 2 time zones,
because of the TV services for Eastern and Central Time zones starting
prime time at 8pm ET / 7pm CT and they repeat 2 hours later for 8pm MT
/ 7pm PT prime time. I would put the dividing line at 1 state west of
the Mississippi

Or just stick with Standard Time all year round.
If businesses feel that they need to adjust (for whatever reason), simply state
that their summer business hours are (for example) 10:00 ~ 18:00.
