We are upgrading to 1.7 shortly and I understand I need existing z/OS 1.4 systems to be on HCD level HCS7708 before the upgrade. I found this FMID in the z990 exploitation support package. We have no plans to implement z990s in the near future, so can I just apply HCS7708 ( and JCS77H8 ) and forget about all the other FMIDS ( JBB7717, HKYS200, ... )? It certainly apply checks ok ...
