>I know this will start a logical argument in this discussion group. I worked at a JES3/JES2 shop many aeons ago. Two sites were JES2 and one was JES3. They were connected by NJE/NJP with many complications if jobs were submitted on one node and had to execute on a node with a different JES.
This came about due acquisitions and mergers. When we were ready to convert to XA (that tells you how long ago it was), we decided to convert the 3-site to a 2. The reasons were: 1. Our last JES3 SYSPROG left. 2. The job complications. 3. Even IBM Canada had problems understanding JES3. 4. JES3 wasn't ready for 31-bit, at the time. We did have to implement THRUPUT Mangler and upgrade from SDSI to MXI (now MIM) to get the features and functions under JES2, that were a given with JES3. - -teD 300,000 Kilometres per Second Not only is it a good idea!
