I would guess that it means it is the 1st generation of the zEnterprise, and
his has a max of 96 cores.

was the first 64bit machine, the "z900

generation. So they came out with "z9" which could be

available in September that will also offer a BladeCenter extension
available in November. The US announcement letter is 110-170. The z196
