Luca, In addition to John's excellent questions, another question to ask is what WLM (Workload Manager) goal you've got set. If you tell z/OS Workload Manager that the DB2 user (you) should get a response within X.XXX seconds if possible, then WLM is going to try to meet or beat that goal
