I suspect that someone has added SRCHFOR to a command table. If you prefix SRCHFOR with a greater-than-sign it tells ISPF not to process the command against a command table, but pass it through to the underlying application. If that works for you then you need to check the active command tables

Be careful how you determine whether a particular instruction is described in the POO or not.  I once made the mistake of looking only in the index at the end of the book for a particular instruction op code.  It was not in the index, but it was fully described in the book.  My buddy Reza kept
