I suspect that someone has added SRCHFOR to a command table. If you prefix
SRCHFOR with a greater-than-sign it tells ISPF not to process the command
against a command table, but pass it through to the underlying application. If
that works for you then you need to check the active command tables
Wow .That was cool ... an entry was there for SRCHFOR in the command table . I
just got it removed and the problem is resolved . Thanks a lot Andrew
Also , I learned some more new things on ISPF from this thread . Really
appreciate everyone who commented on this post ..Thanks a lot guys !
Is shot duck Aussie? I'm not familiar with it, and a quick Google didn't
help (because there are too many stories about ducks getting shot!). I'm
guessing it's similar to the US dead duck, as in no life in it?

Maybe it's a golden duck! This is ashes season...
Dad said, Nan's memory is a shot duck. What's a shot duck?, I
asked. Something
that is kaput, replied Dad. Well, what's kaput?, I asked.
Guess, said Dad. Imagine . . .

David,
A worthy conjecture, but you should explain 'The Ashes'. A lot of
people on this side of the pond know nothing about them.

One of the greatest rivalries in sporting history

Not really one of the greatest rivalries anymore...With the diminishing
interest in Test cricket and the surfeit of ODIs and, worse, T20s, I think Test
cricket might be going the way of the IBM Mainframe.

A little follow-up. Vey interesting. The record layouts were *formerly*
documented in Comm. Server IP Configuration Reference, but they have been
removed and don't seem to have surfaced anywhere else. They are in my V1R10
manual but not my V1R13 manual. Anyone know where they went?
There IS a
The SMF record layout book usually has the layouts (few excepted).
I use that as my bible for SMF reports(I use either Easytrieve or SAS).

SMF Record Layout book -- you mean the MVS System Management Facilities
manual? For Type 119 it refers the reader to the IP Config book from which
the record layouts have been excised.

Found 'em. They moved them to the IP Programmer's Guide and Reference, which
is probably a more reasonable place.

Be careful how you determine whether a particular instruction is described in
the POO or not. I once made the mistake of looking only in the index at the
end of the book for a particular instruction op code. It was not in the index,
but it was fully described in the book. My buddy Reza kept
My intent was to convey more than simply dead.
Most shot ducks are merely maimed, and continue to struggle to keep up with the
flock.
Some indeed do plummet back to earth bereft of life - to be collected by hounds.
The imagery (in my head) seemed appropriate.
