Update 8.6.14.4:
EAV support for PDSE data sets allocated in the cylinder-managed
space. This mod thanks to John Hamlet from SAS.
In reply to original question #3, look for the "copy export" function in
IBM's TS7760 documentation. You can also continue using whatever tape file
generation approaches you wish, if you wish -- for example, the AWSTAPE
Utilities from CBT Tape. The TS7760 is a virtual tape library, so anything

I mentioned that issue with regard to a different example (that used storage

Bill's suggestion is a vast improvement. But I can't understand why IBM
publishes examples that seem to be written (by a student) for System/360.
Not to mention that actually dividing by 2 was naive even then.

Yes that is indeed my delimiter that I added in the earlier on the 1st

This field in the F4DSCB in the VTOC will tell you:

How to identify EAV?
Just look - EAV is bigger.

Hi,
We’re being offered a TS7760, and I have some questions:
1.Can the machine be partitioned to serve two separate, unconnected
systems? How flexible is the partition? Must it be fixed when the system is
configured, or can I change it later?
2.Are any additional operating system compon
What problem are you trying to solve?
most shops use a stand set of definitions for dasd which comes with specific
setting for size of volume.
So if you see it is a 3390 Mod3 you know it will be 3339 cylinders. Though you
could make it different, this is what most will recognize as how many
