I don't think IBM ever offered any physical tape drives directly connected to
z/OS, i.e. physical tape drives with FICON or

Isn’t the /etc provided by Serverpac just a sample which you may merge with
your ‘real’ /etc ?. If you are running in a sysplex /etc is a link to
/&SYSNAME/etc. I place the Serverpac ETC file system on the sysres pack and
only mount it (at a temporary mount point) to merge its files wi

Hi Isabel.
I have no knowledge or experience of this except for what I read in the System
SSL manual. It does appear that you have to program in c/c++ but I cannot see
that this is stated explicitly. The examples in the manual and the sample code
and headers in /usr/lpp/gskssl are all c/c++

Pretty much. I know the RACF folks said they had to develop PL/X <-> C
"bridges" to use System SSL.

Hi Lizette,
/etc/security has been set up as 755 by z/OS itself (in BPXMKDIR), for many
releases now. When you say "I have been asked to update the permissions
different that what is shipped
or to remove this directory path (it is empty) " ...may I wonder who is asking
this and why?
Thanks.

I would not delete a serverpac provided dataset. Changing the permissions would
then be something you would need to add to your System installation doc for
each new system.

HI all,
In a PPRC environment, is there any way to discover using SMF if a specific
UCB is a primary or secondary volume?
I saw that SMF 74 presents the subchannel set information, which can be used to
identify
if the volume matches this primary/secondary information, but it does not apply
to
You may well be right. I sort of hinted at that.
Data leakage prevention is about stopping data being shared. It oftens needs
different techniques to data access prevention.
