Bob,
It's pretty long haired geeky work going on there, and I think it's hard for
our older minds to wrap around it. A year ago I was in POK for executive
briefing and they gave us a tour of the older quantum computer that they
actually let people see. Pretty unimpressive as not much to loo
A lot of the "hand-waving" that is done is done for the same reason that we
describe the atom using the planetary model to high school students, as the
cloud model to undergraduate college students, and then using the probabilistic
model to graduate physics students. There is a lot of "stuff" be
Ok, I watched it. I learned some things, but I still don't get it:

says "Quantum encodes information on electrons ... [which] behave in a way
so that they are heads AND tails and everything in between. You've gone

A day late and a dollar short. :-) Although you did get me a REXX exec or

ISFACR would not work in my sysplexes at all except a small monoplex. I didn't

We are building a parallel sysplex.
LPAR1 is still in a monoplex with GRS=NONE. It will be shutdown. Then we
want to bring up LPAR2 with GRS=STAR and join the sysplex.
A couple of questions cropped up.
1. Can LPAR2 be brought up, trying to access the share catalog, RACF
database etc when the oth

I’m updating file 192 part of the modifications is chaining the TCB/rb/cde
In that case I would need at set the AR to 1 for home address space and do
sac 512 to reference the TCB/rb/cde chain

SET ETDEF has a parameter for an Associated Recovery Routine (ARR)
If You develop an ARR, I would be interested in seeing what You do/

I have an ARR , I like to see what others do in it .
I can send You what 'Im playing with now and some documentation.

You may need to configure and stand up z/OSMF on z/OS 3.1 for other z/OS 3.1
capabilities, but you don't need to configure it to install z/OS 3.1. CBPDO is
still available as an installation option.

You don't "specify". You provide a way for the connector to issue ETCON.
This is all very well described in the extended addressability guide.
