I seem to remember that you can also stop or cancel AXR address space and start
it with a modified AXRxx member in appropr. PARMLIB

Seems that I found the reason for not including description of PARMLIB-member
IEFOPZxx in
the appropr. z/OS GA-manuals:
According z/OS 2.2 announcement this functionality will be included by PTF only
in December 2015.
And therefore it sounds reasonable for me not including it in the GA-manual
Big Thank YOU, Marna !
But after downloading 'MVS-Initialisation and Tuning Reference' I wonder why
the mentioned new
PARMLIB-member IEFOPZxx is not decribed in the manual :-(
Are the manuals just 'under construction' ?

Hi Alan,
did you try the circumvention proposed by Alan Altmark some weeks ago ?
In my case here it worked quite well after upgrading appropr. workstation for
remote HMC-access
to Java 8.
If you're interested in please let me know it ...

Although I do not know when Patches will be released by IBM, but
I was pointed by 'friendly support' to the following IBM-Blog Collection:

There customers can find some information about Shockshell-Issues for IBM

Maybe we use different terminology, Tom ?

What concerns Integrated 3270-Session usage from a remote HMC I have to admit
that
it is possible with the right Browser- and Java-Setup (i.e. Mozilla Firefox
31.0).
It works for me quite fine i.e. for z/OS Console Sessions or z/VM IPL'ing.
Or did I miss the point here ?

On our site here Attachmate Extra!Xtreme 9.x is used as TN3270 Emulator for

Bingo, Norbert !
In my case here coding "security.tls.version.max=1" has solved the problem !

Hi Barbara,
at our site here (z/OS 1.13) both allocations has ended with 0, are displayed
as PO-datasets,
but in both cases ISPF shows an I/O Error after hitting command 'I'.
So I can not confim this behaviour ...

You are right in principle - but I think BBNBASE is the WAS OEM packaged with
z/OSMF.
And z/OSMF can be ordered without costs ...

Hi Ron,
very glad to hear that your problem is solved now and all works for you !
Sometimes a few explaining words are very usefull for further understanding
of manuals/presentations. At least that is my experience ...
If there should occure any further problems pls. feel free to address them on
Sorry Chris - I simply did not want to bore the folks here with z/VM -specific
details :-)
And yes I know that IBM-MAIN is and has always been a good focal point for all
mainframe-related stuff ...

Ron,
of course you can' specify 888 as RDEV for your VSWITCH1 because you've
attached this OSD-device
to TCPIP !
You should have further real device (i.e. 870) for your VSWITCH1 to connect to
'outer-world' ...
But since this topic is not related to z/OS - maybe we should discuss it
of
That can only answered by Ron :-)
Nonetheless a VSWITCH needs a real OSD-device for communicating outside
a z/VM LPAR if the Controller is DTCVSWx.
Please correct me if I should be wrong ...

Hi Ron,
alhough I think the IBMVM forum is the right place to address your question,
I do not see a the 'real' OSD-device representing your VSWITCH1.
I.E. : RDEV: 0500.P00 VDEV: 0500 Controller: DTCVSW2
