Be carfeul with the transfer rates reported by ftp. It is heavily dependent on the amount of data transferred. Just an example from my environment: o transferring some 1200 bytes, ftp tells me the transfer rate is 245 KB/s o transferring some 2.3MB, ftp tells me the transder rate is 12'000KB/s This is a nearly 50 fold difference.
