I'm not sure about JES2 interpreting a job number as negative. But the "convenient" wrap-around range feature did get an operator fired at my shop many years ago. He intended to purge 2 jobs: $PJ1234-1235, but prematurely hit enter after $PJ1234-123. Didn't make any noise until the supervisor &
