It is what I understood from announcement, once tape drives will not connect directly to z/OS channel but to VTS for destage. VTS emulates 3490/3590 and can destage to any kind of tape, it is just a bunch of bits to be recorded in tape. Carlos Bodra IBM zEnterprise Certified São Paulo – SP – B
