System Config Syntax Check

2006-04-03 Thread Tim Joyce
We had a problem with the IPL of our z/VM 4.3 system over the weekend that ended up being a syntax error in our system config. An ending comment */ was not put on a member intended to be commented out. The IBM service guy indicated some sort of syntax check routine that we did not have. I do not

Greetings, VM experts. Does z/VM 5.1 have a setting for the missing interrupt handler? I looked in SYSTEM CONFIG, but I didn't find anything. Thank you Paul E. Williams | The Capital Group Companies | Location: BRO |

No, we SET MITIME using AUTOLOG1. See QUERY MITIME and SET MITIME. It can be set for specific UCBs or Device Type. -Original Message- From: The IBM z/VM Operating System [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Paul Williams Sent: Monday, April 03, 2006 1:59 PM To:

Question on output of the SHOW Xedit Command

2006-04-03 Thread Edward M. Martin
Hello Everyone, I would like to do a Show Xedit command and have more than just the line with the match be displayed. I seem to remember Kevin Beaurequard (we worked in Tallahassee together) that knew xedit commands that would find the match and show 2 or 3 lines around the match.

Re: Increase VTAPE throughput to VTAPE server on PC.

What speed is your network card on your PC? 10 mbs? The OSA cars is 1 gbs. That seems to be where my VTAPE performance problem lies (also any other large IP service that has my PC envolved). I initially thought it was the network traffic. But I didn't get any greater thruput on a weekend.

Increase VTAPE throughput to VTAPE server on PC.

I’m trying to get better throughput on my VTAPE services going to a PC. I performed a number of traces both on my laptop were the VTAPE server is running and the VSE TCPIP stack. The delays appear not to be on the PC or network side but getting the data from my application (LIBR, FCOPY etc and

Hi Tom. From my traces the Network and PC are responding very well. This includes the OSA Express, VSWITCH and VSE TCP/IP stack connected to the VSWITCH. It really appears to be on the FCOPY/VTAPE partitions. FCOPY is lower than VTAPE partition which is lower than TCP/IP partition and I believe I
