Two is a number. :-)
Not IBM-specific, but S/390 architecture specific: the smaller
Fujitsu-Siemens SX series are really non-Intel Sun boxes running an
emulator, with BS2000/OSD and VM2000 running on top. (The S-series are real
boxes.) I think that F-S may also have some Intel boxes doing this

Hi, Jim.
For a one way encryption, I would think some sort of hash or message
digest function might fit the bill. Look up MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone have one they can share or a pointer to where I may find
one? I'd like it to be written in assembler.
Thanks.

Anyone know where I could find an install guide, program directory, etc.
to install VSE/VSAM for z/VM 4.4? I've been out on IBM's website but am
having no luck finding information.

I've heard C referred to as a glorified
assembler. That's no insult. Fond as I am of IBM assembler,
it's useless on PA-RISC, Power, INTeL, so on. Fond as I am
of assembler (more control, more efficient) I use C as
often as I can because it approaches the capabilities of assembler but

How about IPLing Stand-Alone ICKDSF
from a tape. You could issue a
CPVOL LIST UNIT(addr) NOVERIFY
command.
That would list your IPLable volume
and display the Volume Serial and Allocation Map.
And if it is not in CP format,
it will also tell you..
