I have heard from a 3390-27 that has 3 times the capacity of a 3390-9.
If your application is running under zLinux you can use an LVM like riserfs 
to create a logical volume that is spread over many real disks.

The 3390 mod 9 are not large enough for the customer's application.

What is the largest volume z/VM 5.1 can handle?  If only the data utilized
the one huge volume, what would be the repercussions?

Please advice.
