We use some EMC dasd (3390-mod3 and 3390-mod1) on a Z9 with VM5.1 and
VM5.2 without problems unless you use 3390-mod1's (and maybe 3380's? we
don't)
Don't know if EMC officially supports the Z9/EMC combo.

I'm curious if this affects HDS DASD too? We have some 9980 stuff with
hipervolumes that are 1252 cyls big.
Also, if VM63854 is new function, why is it marked HIPER? Does it fix
