Thanks for the suggestion, but it won't work for us. VM:Backup uses DES
encryption. The DES standard is not approved for use within our

I do admit to being suspicious that some recent posts have not made it
through our spam filters, but for this topic I even logged onto the IBMVM
listserv and cannot find the topic in May or even April, 2006.

Hello Dennis,
VM:Archiver is using VM:Backup to do the real backup to tape.
VM:Backup has ENCRYPTION built in.
Just add your key to an execption file.
