(also posted to IBMVM, to catch any folks who don't read LINUX-390) I've just posted an updated version of SWAPGEN to http://www.sinenomine.net/vm/swapgen. Version 0801 contains a fix to this issue, which preserves the stack contents in case you might want them for something. Version 0801 provides two new options: VERSION -- displays the version number and build date of the exec you have. SWAPGEN exits with rc=4 if you specify the VERSION option. DEBUG -- displays debugging information that is useful for following the program logic. This option is off by default. The new version is supplied as a VMARC file (SWPG0801 VMARC). Follow the usual instructions on downloading and processing VMARC files (binary mode, reblock to F 80, etc). Note that I left the previous version in place as well (SWAPGEN5.EXEC). There are some popular documents that refer to that location. New installs or updates to previous installs should use the version in the VMARC file. If you desparately need earlier versions, ask me and I'll find them again. For extra fun and games, I also added the CMS update control files, patch files and update logs for the EXEC and HELP files to the VMARC. If you just want to update your copy of SWAPGEN, you only need the files SWAPGEN EXEC and SWAPGEN HELPCMS. At some point (when I get some free time), I'll post the version that supports message repositories and full internationalization of the messages. Bugs can be politely reported to me. -- db
