Cherie on Kolur and Cary on Skjoni, both geldings went into a slight
hyper mode at the beginning of the first two rides. In this case, I don't
think either Cary or Cherie were particularly nervous or uptight, but I
suspect that somehow, the two geldings picked up each other vibes.
The first time
I have been riding each endurance ride with a friend who has a very steady
eddy type of horse that I know Hunter takes comfort from. They're pasture
mates.
My friend, however, gets very excited at the start of each race - she refers
to herself as amped.
Sadly, her horse got hurt and stayed home
sounds like it, I do the same thing with Jewel, I have to really work with
Calming down, when I go out alone, I am so calm, and so is Jewel, makes me
wonder if it is me that causes him to be nervous when I ride with others...
or him???
I try so hard to stay calm, but nothing I do seems to change
