We've been talking that we want to have our horses outside 24/7 all
year with a run-in shed, so a 'herd' would probably be best to keep
each other warm and for company. I'm thinking at least 4 or 5
horses--would that be enough?

I think we're slowing down a bit. We've been offered a 1/2 quarter
horse, 1/2 Fjord mare as a gift. She comes with all the equipment
possible
