Is there anyone using NIC Linux with KDE. It is the default OS for Kerala
Police. One of the policestation near me requires a small training session
on how to use malayalam as well as net configuring in BSNL. I went there
yesterday found KDE desktop , I am a regular gnome user found it

Linux Mint is optimized for gnome. You better try KDE with distributions
that default with KDE. I am using KDEmod 4.3.2 and I do not have any problem
as you suggested. Everything works fine.

for net configuring, use wicd network manager. Its easy and its native for
KDE.

In gnome to configure bsnl broadband usually opens a browser types
192.168.1.1 and i get the dsl settings but yesterday it was not happening
the browser was ice weasel. I tried ifconfig in root there was eth0 shown I
was really confused anyway i'll try Malayalam
i do have repositories of ubuntu 9.04 and i am installing all the things
from there
there i got latex and kile all things. but i tried with latex version of
kile also the same problem is there ...

I have found it easier to write python scripts instead of bash
scripts. IMO when you are on a fullblown desktop OS which has python
then there is no need to stick to bash for your scripting needs.
