If you need to disconnect the network then,click the network settings at
top-right side of the screen.
Then You may see an option as Disconnect.While clicking it you can
disconnect the Internet.And when ever you needs the net to be connected
then,click the network connections and click auto eth0.

thanks for advice, what i actually want is disconnect the connection
after a particular time period. what you are suggesting is the way to
manually disconnect the connection like we do as in the case of a dial
up connection. i know that by executing poff command in terminal i
can disconnect

properties. It says 1024x768. It's the same resolution i'm using in my
