Try using VLC and open the .vob file . It should play nicely :)

I wanted to copy DVD video to hdd. but when copied only two folders named
audio ts and video ts are copied. when tried to play them it is not playing.
is there anything special when copying video files.?
i am using ubuntu 10.04, and movie player.

right now i am on Saral's pc in which ubuntu 8.10 is the OS
the problem is the PC is not mounting any dvd's automatically. we have to
use the command:
*sudo mount /dev/scd1 /media/cdrom0*
but it takes a lot of time to mount while doing this ( more than 5 minutes)
