Hi everyone. I wanted the 3D desktop in my fedora 8. I have both KDE and Gnome desktops. I have tried to install the compiz using yum install compiz-fusion
ultimately i got it installed. where was it installed ?? i don't know ( i am not a linux expert ) anyway i got it since when i type compiz command and press tab i am getting it. but the problem comes now.... by reading some links from the earlier mails regarding compiz i did the following command compiz --replace ccp & Now comes the headache................... I got the following ERROR lists........ compiz (core) - Fatal: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 after all these then came the BIGGEST PROBLEM.. I lost my windows manager. So i replace it back to kwin and its back to normal. But i want 3D desktops.. This is the second time i have been trying compiz [?] everytime its causing problems for me.
