Hello,

On a conversation about user friendliness of OS,
Srihari replied:

"I have a point to make:
User friendliness is about how comfortable the user is with the
computer he/she is using. So every one will need his computer tuned to
his own tastes. So is it not better that one chooses a distro that will
mostly suite his computer usage(coarse tuning).Spend some time with
the distro get familiar with it..change what you dont like and add
what you like completely based on YOUR like and dislike(fine tune). And
this fine tuning may include tweaking and may be automating your
regular tasks you do.And when you have such a computer completely
tuned to your tastes you will definitely be fast and productive.
I am ready to help you..sad to hear that your computer's
unfriendliness is effecting your productivity.

Thankyou Srihari,

Which are the most customisable distros?

[all distros under GNU GPL shud be customisable, the question shud be
interpreted as: which is the distro which comes with certain** set of
utilities and degree of customisability inbuilt.] "Customisable" as used
here, is not only OS tweaking, but readily allowing installation of proven
softwares. On a previous discussion "which is the lazy man's Linux distro,"
these came up : *Mandriva, Mint, SchoolsOS, ArtistX, Open Suse*. As
tested repositories are available over many DVDs, *ubuntu* shud also be
considered(?).

Can somebody comment on the above distros? their licensing reputations, user
base and software availability / compatibility?
certain** set of utilities: best quality softwares avilablein all sectors,
(we are *not* considering low system resources or the size of
Distro/repository media, at the moment)
