I have already installed Windows after deleting Ubuntu partition, using
Gparted CD.
In this experience, I observe the following defects in the present version
of Ubuntu:
1) It is not correctly detecting where the Windows is installed. (It showed
'Windows in sda1', but it

Yes it is a spelling mistake. You have forgotten to add a '-' (hyphen)
between gnome and panel, the correct name of the package is *gnome-panel.*
