I happened to use KDE once. It had a professional look. But no matter
whatever I tried I couldn't enable the desktop cube as the no of desktops
could not be set to Four and it remained at Two. I couldn't figure out what

Yes, KDE could run GNOME apps. ( Sometimes the application may crash
without any reason, like pidgin..)

4.3.1 on an Arch Linux system. I find it very tightly integrated ( eg:
all my contacts are shared across KMail as well as kopete and with any

i just compared gnome with windows. not with kde. i never used KDE, i got
everything i want in gnome. i don't want to compiz, because i dont want to

I want to say something that sounds funny...but its a fact.
Few months ago some of my friends got stunned by the appearance of KDE and
started using Linux just to achieve that cool appearance and effects.
But most of them now switched to Gnome...I wonder why?
