1. Are you getting login screen instead of Desktop? . Problem is x11
startup getting failed. No problem else.
2. Are you tried failsafe Gnome session?
3. Are you getting error message during loading rc.local file? . I got

yes, but using gipw for /etc/groups and vipw for /etc/passwd

I am planning to buy a digital voice recorder and a digital
projector. They should be out-of-the-box linux compatible and

the right command is *locale-gen*
